Running a business, any business requires time and commitment. Everyday you visit your office, do your sales calls, plan your projects or devise ways to generate more revenue with higher profits. Time and commitment from 9-5, 8-6, 7-7; 5 days, 6 days, 7 days per week.

The trouble with Internet Marketing is that you can operate your online business from anywhere so long as you have a computer and a connection to the world wide web.

It is possible that most of you reading this actually believe that is the BEST thing about internet marketing, you can operate your online business from anywhere. Low start up costs, low market entry barriers, millions of opportunities and  access to seemingly unlimited international customers.

You can reach everybody all the time! Sweet!

And because you believe you can reach everybody all the time, you spend all your time online. It’s not 9-5, 8-6, 7-7; 5 days, 6 days, 7 days per week, its all the time. Twenty Four Seven (24/7)!

If you can impact your business in real time and interact with your business at any time from anywhere what (or whom) is stopping you from doing just that?

Think about why you started your business

Was it because you thought you could earn a few extra dollars online and supplement your wage, were you bored with your current job or career, struggling to meet your bill payments, wanted to get rich ‘overnight’, wanted more free time to spend with  your family, surf, play video games, travel?

The danger with Internet Marketing is that it can totally consume your mind body and soul – an obsession. If there is any quicker way to ruin your life it is to become obsessed…with anything.

I’m not suggesting you don’t need to be focused and invest time and commitment in your Internet Marketing business.

I’m talking about an overriding obsession when you forget to eat and sleep, when your every waking moment is spent thinking about up sell, down sell, squeeze pages, opt in list, list building, SEO, CPA, CPC, articles, viral marketing, affiliate programs……!

But guess what, that’s what everyone else who is serious about creating a genuine Internet Marketing  business is thinking about as well….but  if you were to talk to the guys at the top of the industry would their story be any different?

I think so and it’s not because their not committed or haven’t been, at some time, obsessed with their business, it’s because they have discovered how to increase their effectiveness online and thereby reduce the amount of time they have to spend on it.

Now they can probably travel, spend more time with their family, buy their new cars and houses…and if they want to, log in anytime from anyplace to interact with their business in real time.

Internet Marketing Ruined My Life

The belief is that if you’re not “on

all time” then surely your competition is going to get that sale, build their list faster and bigger, find the next big thing before you do and everybody is going to be doing it!

If you don’t want Internet Marketing to Ruin your Life you must use those resources made available to you online to manage  and plan your time.

1. You must use these resources to automate your processes.
2. You must use these resources to outdo your competition so you don’t have to obsessively micro manage.

Instead you can enrich it in anyway you choose because you’ll have the freedom and choice that you desired when you started out.

If you’re too cheap to buy that latest, proven, list building product, or attend that industry expert seminar, or  utilise other systems to automate and systemize your daily efforts then how can you expect to succeed?

Especially if your competition is engaging completely!

Remember that job or traditional business you work in everyday now?

…don’t you use the best tools you can, attend industry expert seminars to discover new markets, new ideas and new processes for growth, don’t you use tools to automate daily repetitive processes?

So why wouldn’t you invest in the same tools for your own Internet Marketing  business? you should have no less focus or commitment  just because you run it from your PC at home.
